Clinical case description:
Thickness and adequate bone height are essential for the installation of dental implants. Due various reasons (fracture, periodontal disease, tooth extractions, etc.) may occur alveolar bone resorption that impair the installation of implants in the correct ideal three-dimensional positioning. Procedures for the increase in the residual alveolar ridge, based on the principle of the guided bone regeneration can be performed before or at the same time of implant placement allowing its installation in proper positioning and subsequent rehabilitation. The introduction of new graft material, as well as resorbables membranes have provided an alternative to autogenous bone grafts that are "gold standard" in terms of osteogenic potential.
