Clinical case description:

With Geistlich Biomaterials to the stars: clinical case of treating of the International Space Station crew member.

The clinical case demonstrates application of Geistlich Bio-Oss® bone substitute material for sinus floor elevation and guided bone regeneration performed for an astronaut with a control of the result after half a year spent onboard of the International space station.

Patient of 50 years old referred to the Centre of maxillofacial surgery and dentistry of FSI Burdenko Central Military Clinical Hospital with complaints of absence of the 3 teeth in the 1 segment - 1.5, 1.6, 1.7. Teeth 1.5 and 1.7 were absent for a long period of time, while the tooth 1.6 was removed about six months ago due to exacerbation of chronic periodontitis. The removed tooth and tooth 1.4 were abutment teeth of a bridge. Thus a terminal dentition defect of the upper jaw in the position of teeth 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 appeared. The patient asked to implement a fixed prosthesis in this area.
